I visited this Revolutionary War house (circa 1740) on 8/8/04. It's supposed to be "under renovation", but it's in really sad shape
& currently closed to the public.
( 4/18/05 UPDATE: I went there today -- construction has FINALLY started! I've written the South Bound Brook
City Council to possibly allow me to do an evening investigation in the house ( I really hope they allow it, as i'm
certain that i'll "capture" some very interesting pictures/sounds inside!), or just to leave recording equipment
running after the house is closed).
( 6/26/05 UPDATE: Have emailed them several times, and have gotten only "vague" answers. They seem enthusiastic as a
3-week old cadaver! If they don't want me to investigate it, why not just SAY SO?!??! I feel as if i'm getting the "run-around"
from these people, and it's damned frustrating!).
( 9/10/05 UPDATE: Ghost Hunters not wanted in the Staats House! Read my
article!)
The next picture, taken on the side of the house, gives me VERY "negative vibes:
In the following shot, i put the camera right up to the window, and shot inside, using flash. You can see my outline,
the camera & the flash. BUT, in the lower right-hand corner, you can see what MIGHT be an old man or woman's profile.
(Some people have said that it looks like Michael Jackson! LOL!):
Enlargement:
I went to another window, and (again) placed the camera lens right up to the glass. Again, you can clearly see the
camera and my hand. This time, nothing is seen IN the house, but you can see (on the left-hand side) what MIGHT
be a figure standing next to a tree, with it's out-stretched arms on it. (This wooded area was once a formal garden
circa 1900). The enhanced photo shows what might be a second figure standing behind it, or sitting on the hood
of my CAR! (You can see "legs" in front of my car's grille):
Enlargements: (2nd picture with increased luminance):
Here's a shot of what seems to be the laundry room, and the kitchen in the room behind it. You can see a dark "head"
next to the sink:

I found out later that the original owners kept SLAVES in the attic room:
"Abraham Staats and his family lived in the home during the American Revolutionary War. Staats was a prominent landowner and citizen
of his community, serving as a farmer, and teaching mathematics, surveying and navigation. He was also an ardent patriot. When the British
occupied New Brunswick, Staats and his Wife hid some merchant's valuables in the floor of his barn.
==> "A slave in the Staats' household known as "Tory Jack" reputedly helped the patriot cause by spying on Crown forces in the area
and reporting back to the Americans".
Could this be a photograph of "Tory Jack" ???
(Click HERE for more info on him!).
Here's another shot taken thru the window, where i observed the "entity" touching the tree. The "entity" is
gone, but in it's place, there seems to be a figure (a woman?) kneeling. She she has her hands raised, as if in prayer.
(If you look closely, you'll see what looks like ANOTHER figure standing on the hood of my car (!), seemingly "coming at"
the woman). Notice that the figure of the woman is fairly solid -- you can't see my car very well thru it:

This last set is very faint, but it's unusual enough to add to this "ghostly gallery"! (I had some doubt as to including it, but many people told me that
i SHOULD, so here it is!). The main picture shows an empty room, with a (possible) living room behind it. If you look at the left corner of the picture,
you'll see 2 "square-ish" heads, on top of each other, The first closeup shows a small head to the left of the upper one. Lastly, if you look VERY
CLOSELY at the top head, about 2:00 position, you can see an EXTREMELY faint male head, that looks like it has a beard!
