Several people, including at least one "Ghost Hunting Group" look with distain on my photos, saying that "shooting thru glass is a no-no, because you can photograph objects behind you". In my humble opinion, this argument is VERY weak (i prefer to use the word "stupid"), the reason being that, if it IS a reflection of something behind me, there has to BE SOMETHING THERE to be reflected in the first place!!!
The picture below shows the view behind me when i was taking the "man touching the tree", the "wooden face" & the "kneeling lady" photos (as indicated by the yellow arrow). Now, do you see anything -- ANYTHING -- that could be mistaken for those images?
I don't!
So, unless u can find something that even REMOTELY resembles any of those objects, this theory doesn't "hold water", no matter HOW MUCH people parrot it (or, how "professonal" they claim to be).......to me, it shows that they aren't using their noggins! This "explanation" belongs in the category of "subterranean streams", etc....
Have you ever noticed how sites like GhostStudy have so many photos that have been taken of spirits appearing in computer/tv screens, mirrors, & windows? (In other words, thru GLASS?).
(BTW....i have my own "bone to pick" with GhostStudy: mainly their use of "ugga bugga" Hallowe'en-like graphics; especially the one of that stupid girl with her hair standing on end! IMHO, all this nonsense takes away from the seriousness of this topic, but that's another rant..........)
Glass, as you probably know, is made out of quartz, a mineral that is crystalline and is used for photographic lenses, and other optical uses. MY personal theory is that, somehow, glass (like a photographic plate) can retain images of people (electromagnetic frequencies, perhaps) that have been reflected in it.........even after many years! The ghost photos that you've probably seen that show ghosts "looking OUT of an old house" just might NOT be IN the house.......they might be in the window GLASS!
Lastly, to give more credence to my theory, why is it that reflected "ghost images" ALWAYS look like PEOPLE? Why not a jet plane? A baseball bat? A car? A snowman? WHY PEOPLE?? (Their faces and/or bodies?). Again, there is nothing -- NOTHING -- in the above picture that can be, in your wildest imagination, be mistaken for the image of a person-- NOTHING!
(If u can find something above, I'll admit defeat!). Until then, i encourage so-called "ghost hunters" not to "pooh-pooh" the idea of shooting thru windows! Be more open-minded!
And so, i see nothing wrong in taking photos thru the windows of houses, like i have done in the Staats House.
I have discovered that area where the "man touching the tree" and the "kneeling woman" were photographed was a beautiful garden around 1900.
Perhaps, thru this method, we are able to glimpse people who, long, long ago, enjoyed the beauty of this garden.............
